Michael Day has been a researcher in the biological control of tropical weeds for over 38 years with CSIRO covering aspects such as host specificity testing of potential agents, mass-rearing, field release and monitoring. He is currently employed by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Queensland.
Michael has had extensive experience in working in the Asian-Pacific region, working on weeds such as Chromolaena odorata, Mikania micrantha, Lantana camara, Mimosa pigra, Eichhornia crassipes and Pistia stratiotes. Michael is the current convener of the IOBC Working Group for the Biological Control and Management of Eupatorieae Species, under which this workshop will be held.
